Derbyshire born poet and recording artist, Mark Gwynne Jones will perform his award-winning, one-man show Voices from the Peak – Live! in Baslow on Saturday 23rd March.

Described by The Times as 'a fascinating quest… An audio odyssey… and some marvellous Derbyshire reflections…’ - Voices from the Peak is a journey through the Peak District in word, film and sound, incorporating the unique qualities of people and place.

The show draws on the voices and stories of Mark’s popular series, Voices From The Peak, combining spoken word, soundscape, and archive recordings to evoke a landscape rich with both beauty and danger. From the voices of mineral miners who illuminate the story of lead mining, to memories of big winters, and the origins of well dressing – Mark’s funny and absorbing in-person presentation rediscovers the stories that connect us to the land.

To celebrate three new chapters of the work, Mark will deliver his award-winning show ‘Voices from the Peak’ – Live! at Baslow Village Hall, on Saturday 23rd March.

Bar opens at 7pm, show starts 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 from: https://www.ticket source.co.uk/baslow villagehall. Email: bvhticketing@gmail. com. Call: 07754 176362. Visit: Baslow Post Office or Baslow Pottery.
