The Bakewell Pudding Race Sunday 25 June 2023

This year’s Bakewell Pudding Race will take place on Sunday 25 June, starting at 11am. Registration starts at 10am, with entries on the day only (cash only). The run has now been taking place in its current form for over 20 years and is one of the opening events of Bakewell carnival week.

As usual there will be two runs – the Senior Fell Run is 10.4 km (approximately 6.25m) and follows paths up through the woods to Ballcross, to the top of Coombs Road, down to the river and then through the showground and back into the Recreation Ground.

The Junior/Fun run is suitable for fun-runners, families and younger runners. This run is 4.2km (approx 2.5 miles) and follows part of the Monsal Trail before coming back through the river to the Recreation Ground – there are marshalls to help everyone through the river, but it is also possible to stay dry by running along the paths and back over the bridge. The first 200 runners will receive an excellent and well-earned Bakewell Pudding from the Original Bakewell Pudding Shop.

The funds raised by the run, which is sponsored by Oldfield Design, go to local causes. If you represent a local organisation that requires funds, please contact John Scott . We currently have some money to donate to worthy local causes, so please write or call.
