Sonia’s 85th Year Hang Gliding Adventure!

Sonia completed her hang glider flight with instructor Judy Leden MBE to raise money for Tideswell church

To celebrate my 85th year, I flew a hang glider to raise money to help fix the electrics in Tideswell church.

The 700 year old St John's the Baptist church, known as the "Cathedral of the Peak", is one of the largest churches in the Peak District.

I completed my flight with instructor Judy Leden MBE on 17 June 2023 from Darley Moor Airfield, Derbyshire.

We towed up to 3000 feet behind a microlight and I flew the hang glider around the Peak District skies before Judy landed us back at the airfield.
