Water and stories are intertwined, we cannot live without either.

There’s nothing like tradition and July sees the time honoured custom of Well Dressing in Derbyshire well and truly underway. It is a time to celebrate and honour all things watery, to give thanks to this most precious element, our life source. So what better way to end our season of stories than with watery tales that refresh, replenish and renew, told by resident storyteller Rachel Murray.

Rachel is often to be found roaming the hills and dales of the Peak District muttering stories to the winds and the odd passing sheep, she does also tell to real life people, especially if they have an odd sheep with them. Captivated by stories as a youngster, her love of a good tale has only intensified with age. Now she enjoys sharing all manner of stories with all manner of people.

Join us for the last cafe before our summer break, and bathe in the delights of stories where water is woven into words.

We are delighted to tell you that soup, cakes, teas coffees etc are available from our kitchen. We do still operate with good old fashioned cash (kerching), so bring your purse to cross our palms with silver. You are still most welcome to bring a bottle of something with you.

We urge you to book in advance as we cannot guarantee there will be tickets available on the door.

Visit our facebook page for further details.
