Local people can again embrace the new year at their own pace by taking part in a family-friendly 3K event in Derbyshire Dales District Council’s award winning Matlock Hall Leys Park.
The run/walk/wheel event, organised by the Council's Sports Development Team, takes place on Saturday 18 January, with a 10am start.
Participants who sign up before the end of this year can take advantage of an early bird entry price of £3 (£10 per family) - that’s unchanged from previous years. Sign-ups are available now at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/funrun
The District Council’s Community Development Manager Becky Cummins said: “This 3k event has proved really popular over the last three years and this is another opportunity for all ages and abilities to get outside and get active with family and friends in one of our beautiful parks.
“The event is a friendly, fun and accessible 3km run, walk challenge on good paths in the park. Entrants can walk, jog, take part in a wheelchair or run. There is no time limit.
“Being active is so important both for our physical and mental health and it’s important to say that ticket income from the event will be donated to the park to ensure future generations get to enjoy this fabulous facility for many years to come.”
