The Farming Life Centre began life in a stable block at Blackwell Hall Farm twenty years ago. Bill Gregory, his family and some very passionate individuals established the charity and it is still going strong today. Although there have been many changes along the way, the charity is still needed now as much as it was in the early days.
Through our different projects The Farming Life Centre provides health, well-being and business-related information and support to the farming and rural communities of the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District.
To celebrate this milestone, we are holding various events throughout the year to bring together friends old and new – championing the wonderful work of the charity over the years.
Our first event was a real cracker with Elvis in the Cowshed at Beltonville Farm, Millers Dale. Thank you to all who came and enjoyed an evening of eating, drinking, socialising and dancing to some iconic Elvis classics. A fabulous buffet was provided by the Gibson Family at the Cowshed Café, followed by a raffle which had some great prizes donated by local businesses.
A huge thank you to all who donated.
We will be holding a celebratory afternoon tea event in September as a thank you to all who have supported the charity over the years. If you or someone you know would like to join us, please get in touch: info@thefarminglifecentre.org.uk
The charity is fully grant funded and has had grants and donations from a range of sources over the years. Recently we received a substantial donation from NFU Mutual, Bakewell branch. This has been gratefully received and will be used to help fund our kids’ clubs and our new Women’s group, Peak Women in Ag.
