Your local air ambulance’s Bakewell charity store has been raising funds to support the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) for the past thirteen years.
The Bakewell charity boutique opened its doors on 6th June 2011.
Since opening the customer-focused store thirteen years ago the store has generated £1,522,439.18 incredibly funding more than 650 lifesaving missions – enabling the charity to continue providing pre-hospital critical care to those who need it most.
The store has also received 35,028 bags of donated goods but continues to require support from the local community with further donations of new and preloved items, as these provide vital income for the charity.
“We are so grateful for the support everyone in the local community has shown over the past thirteen years and the amazing amount of vital funds they have helped to raise,” says Adam Wilson, Manager of the Bakewell Store.
“We would like to encourage everyone to continue to visit our Bakewell boutique, whether that’s to browse and grab a bargain, or to donate unwanted goods to our store.
“Selected goods available in store can been seen on our Facebook page as soon as they are available, so don’t forget to keep any eye out for any goods that can be found exclusively in Bakewell,” he added.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance crew attend an average of five missions per day and can be on the ground within minutes delivering pre-hospital critical care at road traffic collisions, sports events, industrial accidents, or medical emergencies such as a cardiac arrest or stroke in the home.
The charity receives no government or National Lottery funding and relies entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 needed for each rescue mission. The charity’s retail stores play an integral role in keeping the vital service operational.
