On Sunday 1st October Darley Dale Town Council, in conjunction with The Whitworth, hosted its second Repair Café. The aim of these events is to help try and reduce the number of new items we buy as a nation and to keep the things we do have in use for longer, thus minimising waste and avoiding landfill.
The volunteers helped repair items, give advice and some even took items away to repair in their own free time. Items mended consisted of vacuum cleaners, wellies/walking boots, projectors, roller blinds and dolls.
Due to the success of the Repair Café, Darley Dale Town Council have now confirmed dates for 2024: Sunday 31st March, Sunday 30th June and Sunday 29th September. Please refer to Darley Dale Town Council’s Facebook page (darleydaletc) for further information about the events nearer the time.
