Cromford Community Centre hosted the ninth annual Cromford Garden & Produce Show on a busy Bank Holiday Monday with another bumper crop of vegetables, fruit, flowers and all sorts of kitchen produce.
Despite the challenging weather (and slugs) earlier in the year there was a good standard of entry, - apart from lettuce and courgettes (those pesky slugs!).
There was fierce competition in the “Flowers” section, especially in the “Mixed Blooms” class, which provided “Best in Show”.
Many thanks to all who took part, whether by helping in the running of the event (including the May Plant Sale), in exhibiting or in visiting and viewing the results of the exhibitors’ hard work whether in gardens, allotments or kitchens.
The results were:
Overall points winner: Tracey Palmer, with Judith Lee in second place and Russ Boyack third. Best in Show (vegetables, fruit and flowers): Ruth Baker with her vase of mixed blooms. Best in Show: Kitchen produce: Kaye Peters with her cheese and chives scones.
