The last coffee concert of this year will be the ever popular “Bel Canto” ladies choir. At 11.15am on Saturday, 9 December they will perform “ The Sounds of Christmas”, seasonal pieces from Carol of the Bells to Edward Elgar, Adolphe Adam, and James Whitbourne, with a special Christmas blessing at the end.
Bel Canto is an auditioned ladies’ choir based in Baslow, with eighteen members. Under the leadership of their musical director, Claire de la Haye, they sing a wide variety of repertoire from ancient to modern, sacred to jazz.
This concert will take place during the annual Christmas Tree festival, when the church will be full of trees, mainly real, but all showcasing various aspects of our local community. The atmosphere will be magical. Come along and experience it!
Entry is free, with a retiring collection for the Organ Restoration appeal.
