The sun shone brightly over Castleton on the afternoon of 18th September, as Castleton Church of England Primary School kick-started the new academic year with a vibrant and fun-filled Colour Run at the Castleton playing fields.
In an explosion of colour and laughter, students from nursery right through to Year 6, along with staff, parents, and governors, came together for an unforgettable afternoon of activity and community spirit. With smiles all around, the event got off to a lively start with warm-up games, including a creative twist on the classic race – the 'paint and spoon' race, which had everyone in stitches.
Facing blasts from paint canons and water squirters, participants made their way through an obstacle course dotted with colour stations, ensuring no one reached the end without being splashed in the full spectrum of rainbow colours. To top it off, the run finished beneath a beautiful balloon arch, welcoming every participant across the finish line in a non-competitive, celebratory fashion.
The event was more than just a fun day out; it was a colourful reminder of the importance of health, wellness, and togetherness. The smiles, cheers, and splashes of paint served as the perfect welcome to the new school year. It was also a fantastic opportunity to raise essential funds for the school, ensuring the students of Castleton continue to enjoy a rich and vibrant educational experience.
A day truly to be remembered, Castleton C of E Primary School’s Colour Run has certainly set the tone for an exciting year ahead!
