Sarah Dines MP visited Baslow’s Annual Apple Day that was held on Saturday the 8th of October. The event marked the tenth anniversary of the Baslow Community Orchard and featured games, live music and hot food along with produce stalls from local community groups.
Sarah Dines MP said, “Last Saturday’s Apple Day at the Baslow Jubilee Community Orchard was simply a brilliant event! The glorious weather was just what was needed to compliment the exceptional stalls and entertainment. I must congratulate Dr David Dawson Chair of Baslow Community Orchard Group for organising such a terrific day and thank him for inviting me.
It was a great pleasure to talk to so many residents and I found the creative vegetable class in the competition fascinating. The prizes were awarded by the Duchess of Devonshire I know everyone was very grateful for her participation. I look forward to attending this very wholesome event next year to see what rare and unusual fruit and veg make an appearance!”
