Bakewell Young Farmers Club Celebrate Successful Year

Bakewell Young Farmers Club has had a very successful year, with Bakewell members reaching the National Finals and representing East Midlands Area YFC in the Junior Public Speaking, Brainstrust, Stockman of the Year and Show Choir competitions. These are fantastic achievements and we are very proud of all of our members for their achievements at regional, county, area and national level.

Our annual coffee morning raised £361.21, which has been split between our chosen charities – Ashgate Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

Aside from competitions and fundraising, we meet every Tuesday from 8pm – 9.15pm at Monyash Village Hall, with frequent outdoor meetings too. This year our meetings have ranged from talks on rural crime, beekeeping and animal nutrition to stockjudging, a bike ride and sports nights.

YFC is open to anyone aged 10 to 28 and is one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK, run by members, for members. YFC provides a great way to get out and about, make new friends and learn valuable life skills along the way.

If you would like to find out what Young Farmers is all about, please visit our Facebook page (Bakewell Young Farmers) for regular updates regarding our busy programme or why not come along to our New Members’ Night Beetle Drive on Tuesday 24th September, 8pm-9.15pm at Monyash Village Hall?!
