On Tuesday 21 March, Bakewell Old House Museum welcomed back it’s volunteers for the new season. At the coffee morning, there were plenty of home-made cake and biscuits which went down a treat. It was also a chance to showcase some of the new Tudor costumes our volunteers have made for visitors and schoolchildren, with the help of a £982 grant from Museums Development East Midlands. A speech by the Museum Committee Chair, Adrian Wills, thanked the volunteers for all the hard work cleaning the museum over the winter months and the preparations made to re-open. Then Museum Manager, Mark Copley, thanked the volunteer teams for the success of 2022, which saw greater visitor numbers and increased income, all thanks to our volunteers.
We always welcome new volunteers to join our fantastic team! www.oldhouse museum.org.uk
