Bruce Kendrick is a celebrated author and his book ‘An Eye for Birds’is a moving story of a boy recuperating from lung disease who is given ‘The Observer Book of Birds for his 11th birthday by his father which inspires his lifelong interest in bird watching. It’s a story of a teenage lad’s journey to adulthood through those early years after he discovered an embryonic love of birdwatching, alongside football and other distractions together with a group of schoolmates in 60’s Merseyside. A passion for nature has stayed with him throughout his life. This is a celebration of nature’s power to humble and heal and also an inspiring call to arms for anyone who values the world outside their door. Bruce admits to coming to photography and writing late in life and we can look forward to a heartwarming and entertaining talk.
Our next Field Trip is on 19th October to RSPB Old Moor and then in November to Burton Mere.
